SKOUT® Air Supply Valve & On/Off Adapter
SKOUT®’s engineer’s experience in the paintball industry has provided extensive expertise in removable air systems, SKOUT®’s air system is intuitive, safe and reliable. Our tank valve and on/off system allow users to remove the air supply for transport or replacement. Each system is also serviceable and rebuildable adding to the overall useful life of your SKOUT® air system.
SKOUT® Air Tanks
SKOUT® Airguns sources safe, reliable and light weight carbon fiber air supply tanks for our air rifles. We offer our customers these tanks inspected, installed and tested on their EVO or EPOCH at time of purchase. Currently these are offered in two sizes 500cc and 580cc, both at the same cost.
Each of our air bottles meet standards for safety and inspection compliance in the United States, we encourage all shooters to check local laws for required certifications.
Air Supply Tanks – Pin Valve Included:
SKOUT®’s high quality carbon fiber air supply bottles include a custom designed stainless steel pin valve to ensure safe, leak free air storage. The valve system reduces wear and tear on the soft aluminum threads of the air tank, ensuring maximum life of your tank and maximum protection from damaged bottle threads.
Offered in two sizes 500cc and 580cc the SKOUT® air supply tank fits perfectly under the barrel of your EPOCH or EVO air rifle. The only difference between the two cylinders is capacity – and with it, a small increase in physical size.
A complete air system
The air supply system of the SKOUT® EVO consists of the On/Off Bottle adapter which threads into the air gun body, and the stainless steel pin valve that threads into the air supply tank. This system provides a robust mounting point, eliminating vibration or wiggle that could result from an improperly secured tank.
This two component configuration also facilitates long term maintenance of the air supply system. Each component can be independently repaired or replaced, each sealing surface and component is serviable for the life of the airgun.
Overall wear and tear is also reduced by the SKOUT® air system configuration. The airgun body and the air supply tank threads are protected from wear because they are not involved in the regular attachment and removal of the air supply tank, rather they attach to replaceable adapters.
SKOUT® Airguns primarily use our Hybrid Bull barrel design, capitalizing on the weight savings and vibration dampening of carbon fiber. Our Hybrid design also maintains similar rigidity when compared to a traditional full steel bull barrel. SKOUT® also offers full steel barrels in limited configurations and calibers based upon application.
SKOUT® engineers validate barrel design theory with real world testing, each EVO configuration is extensively tested at our on site 100 yard indoor range prior to approval for production. Utilizing this type of testing, our engineers and shooting team are able to determine an optimized shooting solution for every caliber and projectile type.
Carbon Composite Bull Factory Barrels:
The factory composite Hybrid Bull barrel use a thick carbon outer wall, permanently bonded to an alloy liner. The solid carbon fiber wall provides similar relative stiffness and dampening properties when compared to a solid steel bull barrel at a reduced weight.
The Hybrid Bull barrel provides extreme versatility for sportsmen, enthusiasts, and competitors of all levels and disciplines. SKOUT®’s carbon composite bull barrel adds tremendous value to the EVO platform.
Factory Steel Bull Barrels:
SKOUT®, has partnered with several barrel manufacturer to offer aftermarket barrels factory direct some of these barrels are offered in a traditional solid bull configuration. These barrels will be co-branded with their manufacture, as well as factory tested in our 100 yard indoor range before shipment, even when the barrel is purchased separately.
The traditional bull barrel design uses a solid steel construction that results in extreme rigidity and stout weight – ideally suited for benchrest or other fixed position shooting.
The revised barrel lock system of the EVO allows the shooter to index their barrel without removing it from the airgun. The EVO barrel lock offers ample adjustment, precise alignment and secure retention.
Indexing your barrel is as simple as loosening the two barrel securement locks, rotating the barrel and locking it back down. For precision shooters this allows rapid adjustment, . The barrel itself is marked with indexing numbers, providing the ability to return the barrel to its previously indexed position after service or transport.
If a shooter does not choose to utilize the indexing feature, no additional steps are required to secure the barrel when compared to taking advantage of the indexing function. A feature with no drawbacks, enthusiasts retain a simple removal and install, while the a serious shooter gains a ballistic advantage.
*It should be noted that solid steel bull barrels are designed with a fixed orientation and cannot be indexed.
SKOUT® barrel locks are designed to address the various forces applied to the barrel anchoring the barrel to the chassis. The bull-pup design of the EVO places the two barrel securement points at each end of the chassis further reducing barrel rise while making weighted shooting aids more effective. By securing the rear of the barrel at the chamber and again at the front of the chassis – the SKOUT® EVO is able to mitigate vibration while providing feedback to the shooter.
Each lock can be easily released in the field with basic tools, allowing the shooter to easily clean their barrel or exchange it for another system. The latch systems are designed with sufficient adjustment to fit all barrel configurations offered by SKOUT® regardless of length or composition.
The factory equipped “standard” barrel of the SKOUT® EVO is capable of SUB-MOA shots at 100 yards with various calibers in a broad scope of situations. Each barrel has been designed and thoroughly tested to provide the perfect balance of performance, value, durability and longevity. The vast majority of air-rifle shooters will be amazed by what is possible with our standard barrels, and may never choose to upgrade.
However, SKOUT® understands that competitive shooters and discerning enthusiasts will always want that final decimal of precision. Because of this, and our own enthusiasm as air rifle marksman, SKOUT® is proud to offer a limited selection of UPGRADE barrels for our EVO and EPOCH air rifles.
These barrels are available factory equipped when ordered for a nominal upgrade cost, or can be purchased separately. All of our upgrade barrels are made in limited quantity and sell out quickly.
The chart below lists the currently available options, which can be selected from the dropdown menu when ordering your EVO® above.
